About The Position

The Maintenance Engineering Manager directs and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of a food manufacturing industrial plant, or other establishment, independently or through subordinates and supervisors. They will manage Capex Projects related to equipment and the facility.she

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or above from four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or other technical field
  • 5+ years of supervisory or project management experience (in food industry is a plus)
  • 3+ years of preventive maintenance program experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in food manufacturing, beverages, fermentation or other regulated process industries.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical systems knowledge.
  • Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Field trouble shooting experience. Hands on PLC (500) trouble shoot experience or program writing.
  • Able to use Auto CAD, spreadsheet and presentation programs.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Safety programs, and WC management.
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP, SSOP, ISO and ERP system is a plus.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and capabilities.
  • Professional certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review job orders to determine work priorities.
  • Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Coordinate activities of workers related to fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide a continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Oversees wastewater plant operations and compliance.
  • Develop a preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Review new product plans and discuss equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Direct training and skill development of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Drives continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve maintenance cost.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with other functions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Provides technical expertise for the Americas Zone projects.
  • Prepare a function budget and monitor the expenditure of funds in the budget
  • Manage spare parts, the company's fixed assets, and used machines.
  • Responsible for activities that ensure food safety, authenticity, integrity, and quality.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
