About The Position

The Wine & Spirits Portfolio Manager is focused on portfolio strategy, pricing, forecasting, and supplier management. This position plays a critical operational and analytical role in driving brand profitability and execution through close collaboration with internal teams. Working primarily out of our Norwood, MA headquarters, the Portfolio Manager partners with Sales, Logistics, Finance & Administration, Creative Services, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable to support supplier initiatives, pricing strategy, inventory management, and financial performance across assigned wine and spirts brands. This role does not involve direct sales or territory management, but instead supports the field sales organization through planning, data, and executional support.

Requirements

  • Strong supplier relationship management in an operations-driven role.
  • Advanced pricing, margin analysis, and financial modeling experience.
  • Proven ability to forecast depletions and manage inventory planning.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail across multiple suppliers and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage complex workflows without direct customer interaction.
  • Comfortable working behind the scenes to support sales and supplier execution.
  • Adaptable, analytical, and process-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of brand or portfolio management experience in the spirits industry.
  • Beverage alcohol distribution experience required.
  • Strong understanding of pricing structures, supplier programming, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Relationship Management & Program Execution Serve as the internal owner of assigned supplier portfolios.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with supplier partners and internal leadership.
  • Develop and execute supplier programs, incentives, and strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate all approved programs to Purchasing, Sales Operations, and Finance with clear timelines and forecasts.
  • Lead pricing strategy, margin analysis, and competitive positioning for assigned portfolios.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Purchasing to implement pricing programs, incentives, and supplier support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of all pricing changes and promotional activity.
  • Support profitability targets through disciplined pricing and cost management.
  • Forecast depletions based on historical data, promotional calendars, and market trends.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Logistics to ensure inventory levels support planned programming.
  • Monitor sell-through and inventory performance and adjust forecasts as needed.
  • Own supplier gross profit performance and budget tracking.
  • Manage compliance with credit terms.
  • Oversee item setup and maintain accurate, up-to-date supplier item data in ERP systems.
  • Ensure operational accuracy across pricing, SKUs, and supplier records.
  • Act as a key internal partner to Sales, Operations, Finance, and Creative Services.
  • Provide reporting, insights, and planning support to the field sales team.
  • Balance long-term portfolio strategy with daily operational priorities.
