About The Position

The Windows System Administrator (Rapid Response) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems. Evaluate and assess developer-provided documentation and media to installation deadlines with provided resources Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements Manage, perform and ensure team members are performing system changes in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems Install, configure, and manage of on-prem Active Directory environment including configuration and implementation of GPOs Assist integration leads and managers in problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation as needed Advise team members and leadership and make appropriate technical recommendations regarding system development issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, process creation and development, and support efforts. Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs, appropriate tools/software, etc… to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions. Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problems and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems Additional Duties: This position has an on-call requirement to provide occasional evening and/or weekend support as directed by the government customer to meet mission objectives. The on-call support may be required with short notice. This support will consist of onsite administrative activities, including hardware maintenance, software installation, troubleshooting efforts, and other actions required to meet the mission. The successful candidate will: Be able to interface with software engineers, systems engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to solve complex integration and technical problems Be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with internal and external customers, in written and oral format Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. Requirements

  • Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 5, or more, years of directly relatable experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and applications such as Windows Server 2012 - 2016 and Windows 10.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers, Sites and Services, DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking and LDAP.
  • Must have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems in a virtualized environment
  • Must have knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
  • Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Have a strong understanding of troubleshooting approaches and root cause analysis
  • Have experience with Multi Factor Authentication methodology
  • Have experience with patch and software management using HCL BigFix
  • Have experience with HP hardware
  • Have experience with NetApp NAS storage
  • Have experience building, configuring and deploying servers using VSphere 7.0+
  • Have a working knowledge of light PowerShell scripting
  • Have the ability, knowledge, and experience in Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Have a degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline

Responsibilities
