About The Position

As a Windows Server Engineer, you will provide for the planning, implementation, support/administration, maintenance, and contribution towards architecture for the Port's windows server infrastructure including servers, storage, backups, Microsoft core services, and ancillary technologies. You will provide daily operations and support of physical and virtual windows servers, proprietary non-windows platforms, and third-party software solutions. You will respond to tier 2 and tier 3 escalations for problems related to server infrastructure. You will provide daily operational support for the Port's private cloud (vSphere) and public cloud (Azure, Defender XDR, Entra ID). You will participate in and execute security and preparedness compliance mandates, audits and incidents response. You will also contribute to standards and processes to satisfy security goals while minimizing impact to operational uptime. You will assist and interact with project teams on ICT infrastructure and other application projects. You will participate in 24x7 On Call rotation and serve as primary point of contact for after-hours incidents related to the server infrastructure and develop resolutions to issues. You will assist in maintaining a document library and include building documents, architecture documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and troubleshooting guides. Salary offers will be made within the posted range. Placement within the range will be determined based on your similar work experience. Requirements

  • Experienced – You have two (2) years of experience in Information Technology.

  • Analytical – You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can apply critical thinking skills. You have a strong skillset in troubleshooting technical outages related to the server infrastructure and associated technologies.
  • Efficient Communicator – You possess strong writing and communication skills and have strong interpersonal relationship building skills to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Technical Proficiency – Experienced in Windows Server, VMware vSphere, cloud platforms, and core infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy), with scripting skills (PowerShell) and expertise in server administration, backup and recovery (Veeam, Exagrid), Storage Area Networks (SANs), networking, security, and ITIL-aligned processes.

  • Desired – We hope you have a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or business administration.
  • We hope you have certifications for AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals or an AZ-800 Administering Windows.
