About The Position

The Manager, Technical Repair role supports the Vestas Americas (AME) Tools department by leading the tooling repair operation and personnel. The Manager, Technical Repair will have extensive knowledge of tooling and mechanical repair, personnel and leadership development, and will promote a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of mechanical systems and repair processes.
  • Experienced in mentoring and empowering team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Experience in performance management and employee development.
  • Bachelor's degree; High school diploma or GED may be substituted with the equivalent level of relevant experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility. Experience in warehousing, distribution, retail, maintenance, repair work, or food service.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience with SAP or ERP/MRP software for supply chain /inventory management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Skilled at navigating through changes and thriving in ambiguous settings.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, focusing on good teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the tooling repair facility adheres to Vestas' safety standards and maintains a clean, organized, and compliant workspace.
  • Manage daily tooling repair and maintenance operations, setting priorities and allocating resources to ensure timely and high-quality repairs.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for the tooling repair department, aligning with organizational goals and future growth.
  • Identify and execute initiatives that improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency within the department.
  • Analyze complex mechanical and engineering issues, develop effective solutions, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor production and operational reports, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize delays and control costs.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to team members, promoting a culture of growth, accountability, and excellence.
