About The Position

The North America EHS Leader for Wind provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) across all wind operations in the region for work performed as part of Operations, Maintenance & Upgrades (OM&U) team. This role drives a strong safety culture, improves safety performance through data-driven insights, and establishes alignment and structure for a geographically dispersed EHS field team. The position interfaces with customers and contractors to communicate EHS performance and expectations, works cross-functionally to resolve complex issues, and exercises high levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen to achieve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in the field of EHS or engineering.
  • 15+ years of EHS leadership experience, ideally in renewable energy or industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams and influence across a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data for decision-making.
  • Communicate complex messages and negotiate internally and externally to influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a proactive safety culture that prioritizes employee well-being and operational excellence.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into all aspects of operations serving as a clear partner to the North America OM&U organization
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing EHS team across North America, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Develop and own standard work for high-performing team inclusive of talent development, audit schedule and capability building
  • Attract and retain top EHS talent; manage medium to large teams with senior professional direct reports.
  • Interface with customers and contractors to communicate EHS performance, expectations, and compliance requirements.
  • Attend and support routine customer meetings with key accounts based on defined standard work
  • Support front-line EHS professionals in resolving customer issues and liaise with customer leaders to communicate safety priorities and performance.
  • Define and implement clear roles and responsibilities for the EHS field team to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Align regional EHS priorities with global standards and business objectives.
  • Support regional strategy are growth priorities and assess risk
  • Utilize analytics and leading indicators to identify trends, predict risks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics to measure progress and impact.
  • Implement innovative tools and technologies to enhance safety performance and reporting accuracy.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve processes and services.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, driving corrective actions and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee audits and assessments to maintain compliance and mitigate operational risks including maintaining quarterly audit program of wind farms and high risk work
