About The Position

The Will Call Clerk is responsible for accurately processing orders in a timely manner to meet pick times and effectively communicating with sales and multiple operations teams to proactively inform of any issue and provide solutions for customers.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent specific experience
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Basic proficiency experience in Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Basic to intermediate familiarity with shipping and receiving practices and handling methods.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of safety requirements for lifting and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Actively supports and complies with Company’s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare order selecting pick work.
  • Accurately and timely select product.
  • Check all pallets of product for correct amounts, manufacture numbers and report any product discrepancies.
  • Stage and prepare picked orders in corresponding temp zone and by method of shipping (e.g., freight pick up, Recovery Van, UPS/FedEx).
  • Invoice orders and provide invoices.
  • Assist with loading of orders.
  • Assist with assigning appropriate pick-up times and maintaining Will- Call Pick Up schedule.
  • Maintain communication with various departments by answering incoming calls and emails in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Accurately prepare and stage any order returns for processing at the end of shift.
  • Process, document, stage and communicate via email, on all cross dock loads & Future Delivery orders.
  • Store and release merchandise receives payments for merchandise held.
  • Contact customer when specified period has passed without payment to define if customer still wants merchandise.
  • Release merchandise to customer upon receipt of final payment, or when customer opens charge account, or routes merchandise for delivery to shipping or delivery department.
  • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
