About The Position

Children’s Friend is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and detail-oriented WIC Program Assistant to be the welcoming face and helpful hand for families navigating the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to create a lasting impact. As a WIC Program Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping families access essential nutrition services and community resources. Your day-to-day will include: Screening applicants for eligibility Providing program information and secondary nutrition education Performing basic health assessments like height, weight, and hemoglobin checks Connecting families with vital services such as housing, food banks, and healthcare Supporting WIC participants both in-person and over the phone Keeping our records and systems accurate and up to date At Children’s Friend, we are proud to be a mission-driven organization that values diversity, inclusion, and teamwork. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Bilingual Skills in Spanish required.
  • At least one year of administrative support experience
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required); additional languages a plus!
  • A heart for helping others and a passion for community health

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical or social services setting (preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required); additional languages a plus!
