The WIC program is a safety net program that aims to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care for residents of San Diego County. Under the direction of the Registered Dietitian, the Degreed Nutritionist determines eligibility, provides nutrition education classes and counseling services for program participants.
