About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Wholesale Business Development Manager to join our team at Apex Petroleum Corporation, a leading petroleum distribution company. The Manager must actively generate sales, bring in new clients, and aggressively grow Apex’s wholesale fuel distribution network. This role requires a proactive hunter mindset, strong closing ability, and a demonstrated history of securing and expanding revenue-producing accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience selling petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, heating oil, or related refined fuels.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and securing new clients in the petroleum, energy, transportation, or fuel distribution sectors.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale distribution channels and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A results-driven and strategic thinker with proactive problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tracking tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential wholesale clients and market trends in the petroleum distribution industry.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to acquire new wholesale accounts and expand the company's wholesale business.
  • Sales & Revenue Generation: Actively pursue, secure, and close new wholesale fuel accounts. Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify, engage, and onboard commercial, industrial, government, institutional, and reseller clients to build strong and sustainable revenue streams.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective wholesale clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share in the wholesale petroleum sector.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, and service agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including logistics, dispatch, operations, and marketing to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery for all new and existing accounts.
  • Industry Networking: Represent Apex at conferences, trade shows, and regional industry events to promote the company and identify business opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, company policies, safety requirements, and contract obligations.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, new client acquisitions, market activity, and competitive intelligence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements in business processes, customer engagement, and sales strategies to enhance performance and profitability.
