About The Position

Provides training support to Southwest Cheese Site management through interviewing and testing new hires, new hire orientation, certification of employees, support for plant management and human resources, identifying and implementing process optimization projects, training new hires and internal movements, and writing and updating SOP. Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act applicable to their actions and conduct. Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) Are you someone who likes to make it happen, make it better, and make it fun? Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and potential candidates.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, recording keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or the Safety Department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for initial interviews and testing (if required) of potential candidates.
  • Model Southwest Cheese values, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee new hire orientation, including informing them of safety and quality regulations.
  • Train new and recently promoted employees in various areas as necessary.
  • Oversee certifications for forklifts and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct audits to ensure employees perform tasks according to standards operating procedures (SOP).
  • Demonstrate professionalism in verbal and written communication and behavior.
  • Support management as necessary.
  • Provide support for performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain documentation of employee certifications and all information necessary for orientation, SOPs, etc.
  • Assist with employee audits and performance evaluations.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses, and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
  • Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act applicable to their actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Research issues & incidents with internal teams, business partners, and customers in a collaborative manner that includes professional, honest, and transparent communication.
  • Work with internal and external teams to implement process improvements and/or procedural changes that eliminate non-value-added activities and drive more business value.
  • Assist with training new team members.
  • Facilitate or oversee training and standard operating procedure reviews to ensure new hires develop role proficiency.
  • Proactively support end-to-end customer needs and strive to meet or exceed SLA timelines.
  • Take ownership of customer requests and engage with internal teams as required and within a timely manner.
  • Meet or exceed all key metrics in line with expectations for the role.
  • Continually update knowledge of products, product changes, processes, and services to deliver a dynamic customer experience.
  • Participate on committees and Company teams as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
