About The Position

Warehouse team member, you are the cornerstone of our company's achievements. Your active, secure, and autonomous efforts are instrumental in upholding the smooth progression of products through our distribution procedures, all the while upholding our exacting quality benchmarks. In your role as a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for maneuvering material handling machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and more. The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving freight from staging zones to designated storage slots on multi-level racks within the designated warehouse section. This must be done promptly and in adherence to safety regulations, and quality protocols. This role also involves restocking pick slots to sustain a smooth production process. Collaborating as a team member within the department and the wider organization is expected, along with the willingness to undertake any assigned tasks that contribute effectively to the company's interests.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED.
  • Experience using a motorized pallet jack.
  • Motorized pallet jack certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete documents and answer questions in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software and able to use WMS and related software’s.

Nice To Haves

  • Motorized pallet jack certified preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
  • Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
  • Review work schedule, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
  • Perform a safety check on pallet jack/forklift to be used and ensure that all other safety devices are functioning properly.
  • Locates proper slot on storage racks, set pallets in place with forklift or hand stack items, enter product data and location into appropriate unit.
  • Locates and performs count check of incoming freight in the staging area and transport to freezer with forklift/pallet jack.
  • Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock items according to the next day's work orders.
  • Rotates date-sensitive stock to the front of the rack and/or remove outdated out of date inventory according to company policy.
  • Disperses over-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage.
  • Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles.
  • Inspects empty pallets for damage, stack and move pallets with pallet jack or forklift to the proper storage area.
  • Works from receiving sheets, computer print-out, established procedures and practices, written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Inspects items for damage, perform temperature and quality checks and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Place pallets on pallet jack and operate along assigned multi-level racks and locate products according to order sheets.
  • Manually place the appropriate stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required. Use single and/or double pallets as directed.
  • Transport completed palletized customer order to shipping dock staging area. May be required to shrink-wrap pallet for staging.
  • Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace them with charged batteries, or attach re-charger and complete vehicle inspection checklist. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Comply with OSHA, FDA, and other safety regulations.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights.
  • Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e. cooler, freezer and dry.
  • Assist in picking when needed.
  • Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
  • Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in work area as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Steel toe or composite closed-toe shoes (protective safety footwear) are required in select business units.
  • Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations.
