About The Position

This position serves as an assistant for research activities within one of CMH's laboratories, clinics, or departments. Under the supervision of an investigator, the Summer Scholar will assist in compiling, storing, and analyzing data and/or samples for a research study. The position will last for eight-ten weeks beginning no later than June 8. At Children’s Mercy, we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels welcomed within our walls. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent and No Experience necessary/On-the-Job Training
  • Must be currently enrolled in medical school and serving as a research assistant in other environments; taking courses at least at the undergraduate level related to research methodology; conducting a research study as part of a course requirement.
