About The Position

This position serves as an assistant and scientist for the Human Factors Collaborative. The intern will assist in a variety of projects which may include needs assessments, data collection, analysis, report writing, and presentations for a period of 12 weeks during the summer. The intern will also act as collaborator on existing projects. At Children’s Mercy, we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels welcomed within our walls. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in PhD program in Human Factors (or related field)
  • No Experience necessary/On-the-Job Training

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Human Factors team on a variety of projects related to quality, safety, innovation, and improvement within the hospital. Projects often span across multiple departments, requiring teamwork and organization skills. This also includes working with frontline staff to identify system issues and problem solve collaboratively.
  • Provides Human Factors education.
