Requirements

  • Certification(s), bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in wellness/fitness related and/or business management field
  • Experience in working with senior adults (geriatric population) with additional experience in fitness and/or programming preferred
  • Experience in a management or supervisory position preferred
  • National fitness certifications as group fitness instructor and/or personal trainer
  • Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating wellness programs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to read, write and speak well using the English language
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop engaging wellness experiences, and achieve measurable outcomes related to participation, satisfaction, and health improvement.
  • Knowledge of gerontology, adaptive fitness, and holistic wellness principles.
  • Empathetic communication and leadership abilities with a genuine passion for helping older adults live purposeful, active lives.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications to include: First Aid/CPR/AED, CPO, Lifeguard

Responsibilities

  • Direct and grow all wellness initiatives, including fitness, aquatics, spiritual, and emotional programs.
  • Partner with clinical and lifestyle teams to promote holistic health across the community.
  • Manage a team of wellness professionals; cultivate excellence and innovation in program delivery.
  • Oversee wellness budgets and facilities, ensuring sustainable, high-quality program offerings.
  • Represent The Village at Orchard Ridge in regional wellness partnerships and events.
