About The Position

Providing crisis intervention, short-term or long-term therapy and group counseling for children, adolescents and adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges, inclusive of sexual assault/abuse and their non-offending significant others and workforce development program members.---

Requirements

  • Master's degree- MA, MSW, etc. from an accredited college or university.
  • LCPC or LCSW licensure preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of one year of counseling experience required.
  • Previous experience in working with trauma populations, specifically community violence traumatized individuals.
  • Familiarity with reflective supervision.
  • Availability to work evenings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently, depending on the situations.
  • Sound decision-making skills in emergency situations.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with client members and team members
  • Basic skill level in MS Outlook, MS Office suite of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • 40-hour certification in Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention training (or the ability to complete this initially upon hire)
  • Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Licensure as: LPC, LCPC, LSW or LCSW.
  • This position will require documented proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family and group short-term and long-term counseling/therapy.
  • Facilitate group services and workshops for members.
  • Deliver telephone and in-person crisis intervention, information, and referrals as needed.
  • Monitor member intake and caseload, conducting individual and group intake screening when appropriate.
  • Furnish advocacy referrals for members to legal, medical, & social services systems as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive member records as required.
  • Maintain all data entry and statistical records for multiple funding sources regarding counseling services performed.
  • Maintain member confidentiality as required by law and funding sources.
  • Attend and collaborate with other Therapists in Clinical team meetings and regularly participate in group consultations.
  • Participate in regular reflective supervision meetings as required.
  • Complete twelve hours per year of continuing education in providing counseling services, with at least six of those hours addressing the specific member populations served.
  • Complete other continuing education and training set by agency/funders.
  • Establish and sustain community contacts to develop and advance the Wellness Network public presence and referral base.
  • Participate and provide leadership in appropriate local, state and national sexual assault, mental health and human services coalitions.
  • Consult with outside community members and groups to help design and implement new services, or support access for underserved populations, as needed.
  • Assist with planning and implementing special programs e.g. Sexual Assault Awareness Month, "Take Back the Night March."
  • Participate in training and for agencies and coalitions providing related services.
  • Assist with planning special programs and events.
  • Other duties outside of the responsibilities of the position may be assigned, whether for a project, special needs task or other assignments, including planning and supporting Mental Health Awareness Month Activities, Take Back the Night, etc.
