About The Position

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Wellness Center Attendant at Anytown YMCA serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting them and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
  • Background in public health, health education, community health, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting prevention, wellness, or health promotion initiatives.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and community engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Data tracking and basic evaluation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a safe environment in which all individuals feel welcomed and respected; build relationships with and among members and program participants.
  • Communicates appropriately with individuals based on readiness to change; coaches them in support of their desired behavior change and regularly checks on members’ progress in meeting personal and program goals.
  • Shares wellness program information with members, using available tools and resources (e.g. handouts, schedules).
  • Help to coordinate and deliver chronic disease prevention programs, workshops, and outreach activities.
  • Support community engagement efforts that promote healthy lifestyles and risk-reduction strategies.
  • Assist with grant activities, reporting requirements, and program evaluation.
  • Help in delivering chronic disease prevention programs, workshops, and outreach activities.
  • Responsibilities will include the promotion, operational needs and management of Egym.
  • This position provides operational and programmatic support for the Personal Training program, including assisting participants, supporting staff, and ensuring a positive and effective experience for all involved. The role helps coordinate program activities, maintains clear communication between trainers and participants, and contributes to the overall quality, accessibility, and efficiency of services. Responsibilities may include participant engagement and support, scheduling coordination, resource organization, and assisting staff with program delivery and administrative tasks.
  • Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants.
  • Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
