About The Position

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a part-time Wellness Associate. Under the direction of the Program Manager the Wellness Associate provides supportive services for guests to have a meaningful and successful stay and to learn crisis coping skills to work towards realizing their full potential. Wellness Respite offers up to 10-day stays in an open-door setting, allowing guests to maintain daily activities as an alternative to hospitalization during crisis. HIGHLIGHTS Follows team protocols to document guest treatment information, including medications and follow-up appointments. Maintains a working relationship with all guests and provides guest counselling. Supports guests in developing coping strategies, advancing recovery goals, and achieving personal objectives. Advocates for guests to access needed resources and collaborates to develop social and recreational opportunities. 32 hours p/w | Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/human service discipline or High School Diploma / GED w/ 4+ years of related experience.
Able to deliver effective individual and group training across diverse learning levels.
Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage crises.
Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
Proficient in MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
MUST a valid NJ driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals who use their personal experience with mental health diagnoses or substance use to inspire, support, and empower others.

Nice To Haves

C.P.R.P. (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner) preferred.
