About The Position

We are looking for a compassionate and team-orientated Crisis Services Advocate to join our Crisis Services team providing overnight, shelter-based crisis service delivery to ensure consistent coverage and client support, including agency intakes, walk-in services, the 24/7 Crisis Line, and support for Survivors’ Advocacy Team (SAT) response; conduct needs and risk assessments, provide crisis intervention and safety planning, and deliver information, referrals, and education on crime victims’ rights and agency services. Reports to: Crisis Services Coordinator Supervises: Assigned volunteers and interns

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of relationship violence, sexual assault, and trauma informed interventions
  • Experience providing crisis intervention or working in a crisis response environment
  • Proficiency in Office applications such as Word and Excel
  • Must be at least 23 years old
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • Excellent oral and written Spanish highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight, shelter-based crisis intervention and safety planning for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
  • Conduct agency intakes, including needs and risk assessments, service planning, and shelter eligibility screening
  • Respond to crisis line calls, walk-in clients, and Survivors’ Advocacy Team (SAT) response needs, providing crisis intervention, information, and referrals
  • Support Survivors’ Advocacy Team (SAT) response, including coordination and dispatch to hospitals and law enforcement agencies, as needed
  • Assess client needs and connect clients to appropriate resources, including agency programs and community services
  • Provide information and education on protective orders, crime victims’ compensation, Child Protective Services, and available agency services
  • Coordinate with external partners, including mobile crisis units, as appropriate to support client safety
  • Provide on-call support for crisis services, shelter operations, and SAT response, as assigned
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential client records and documentation
  • Apply professional judgment to client interactions, decision-making, and problem-solving in crisis situations
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development as required
  • Maintain flexibility to support evening, overnight, and weekend coverage based on program needs
