About The Position

The Weld Group Leader position is an enthusiastic leader who will supervise groups, prepare daily schedules and activities, delegate tasks and ensure group members cooperate and goals are achieved.  A successful leader will radiate confidence, inspire others and be able to build professional relationships.  Ideal candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and know how to effectively manage their time. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven aluminum MIG and TIG weld experience required. (Weld test required)
  • Previous fabrication experience required.
  • Experience with shop tools and equipment required.
  • Ability to read prints and drawings.
  • Evidence of excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of administrative functions.
  • The ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing groups is preferable.
  • Certification in leadership, teaching, management, or communication may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Managing production team members in day-to-day operations.
  • Providing clear written and/or verbal instructions to team members and promptly addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Planning daily production activities and delegating tasks.
  • Clearly outlining goals and ensuring group members understand what’s expected of them.
  • Educating and training new team members.
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are always obeyed.
  • Encourage an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Providing group sessions as well as one-on-one meetings where individuals can voice their concerns or questions.
  • Upholding the values and standards of the organization or company and setting a good example for colleagues and group members.
  • Conducting daily training and safety sessions, as required.
