About The Position

Howmet Aerospace is hiring a TIG Welder in Winsted, CT. The role involves performing welding on specified jobs and resolving related issues such as porosity, lack of fusion, voids, and lack of welds. The position also includes welder prep, weld deburr, small fabrications for gas backups, and operating hardness test machines. This position entails access to export-controlled items, and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

High School diploma/GED required
Use of basic math, including decimals and fractions
Basic skills knowledge
Must maintain welding certification status
Ability to lawfully obtain access to export-controlled items
Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
Welding experience preferred

Responsibilities

Perform welding on specified jobs as needed
Resolve problems with porosity, lack of fusion, voids, lack of welds etc. as they occur
Perform welder prep prior to welding and weld deburr
Perform small fabrications for gas backups
Operate hardness test machines
Ability to read, understand and follow operational sketches
Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook
Maintain welding certification status and perform all other duties as assigned
