About The Position

The Welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other materials by applying appropriate techniques using various welding devices. This role is responsible for assembling or repairing damaged pieces of metal using machinery that emits high heat temperatures and setting up components for welding according to specifications.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Three years related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other materials by applying appropriate techniques using various welding devices
Assemble or repair damaged pieces of metal using machinery that emits high heat temperatures
Set up components for welding according to specifications
Use GTAW process
Be fully proficient with SMAW, FCAW and SAW
Perform SAW machine welds on both stainless and carbon steel
Set parameters to optimize the operation of the process(s)
Produce high quality production welds
Operate gas cutting, plasma, and air arc gouging process on all but the most challenging applications
Weld using larger wire sizes in many situations
Operate jib cranes and forklifts to facilitate positioning of weldments
Make roll and positioner set ups and assembly of simple, smaller weldments on same
Be proficient in blueprint reading except geometric tolerancing
Grind parts as needed pew drawing and verbal instruction
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
Keep Supervisor informed of problems regarding work, piece, schedule, safety, etc. as they arise
