This Welder role involves carrying out welding, cutting, burning, and associated activities as directed on board the vessel. Requirements

High School Diploma (U.S.)/ Proof of Completion of Formal Education or Relevant Craft Certificate (where applicable).
Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
For Norway: Must hold qualifications in accordance with relevant authority requirements and the requirements of the Havtil ref. Activities Regulations and Welder coding according to NS-EN ISO 9606-1:2013.
Knowledge, skills, and experience to carry out assigned tasks.

Nice To Haves

Successful Military Discharge (Preferred for U.S.).
Graduate of Trade School or University where knowledge and training acquired are applicable to job requirements.

Responsibilities

Carry out welding, cutting, burning and associated activities as directed on board the vessel.
Perform general fabrication and repair work that requires welding, torch cutting, brazing and burning operations as required.
Fabricate and fit equipment, structures, tools, etc.
Inspect welded joints for visible defects, correct dimensions, bead formation, weld penetration and conformance to work order and layout specification.
Obtain a permit to work prior to the commencement of any electric welding, use of oxy-acetylene and grinding equipment.
Ensure that an adequate supply of consumables is available for welding operations.
Perform daily inspection and maintenance on welding equipment.
Assist with duties, other than welding when required, to ensure the safe and efficient running of operations.
Proactively promote and maintain a healthy respect for open and transparent dialogue between all levels of personnel.
Demonstrate care for the safety and well-being of all personnel, at all times.

Complete company training requirements for the Welder job level as per the training matrix, including in local/regulatory requirements.
Observe duties and responsibilities in the safety case for this position, if applicable.
Fully participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations as per assigned duties on the station bill.
Apply and participate in the Task Planning & Risk Assessment Process.
Understand and perform the roles and responsibilities as assigned at the pre-job meeting.
Understand the hazards associated with the task.
Understand and effectively implement the control measures required to mitigate identified hazards.
Execute all tasks and task steps in a disciplined manner, following the sequence detailed in the relevant procedures.
Recognize at risk behavior or conditions during tasks and call ‘Time out for Safety’ when unsure, or when the job does not go as planned.
Participate in After Action Reviews to feedback lessons learned from performing the task.
Protect personnel, the environment, and assets by eliminating hazards and reducing health and safety risks.
Understand Company OI & HSE requirements applicable to the job position.
Execute work in accordance with Company OI & HSE requirements.
Call a Time Out when a real or perceived at risk behavior or unsafe condition is observed.
