The Welder must have the ability to do weld fabrication work assigned by Production Supervisor and/or General Manager using qualified weld processes, such as Mig, Tig, and Stick types of welding. Essential Duties/Responsibilities The duties listed below are intended to provide a general description of the tasks to be performed by this position/classification and should not be considered as an all-inclusive listing or limitation of tasks that can or will be performed by the employee. Employee is responsible for their own work. Prepare parts for welding as indicated by engineering drawings and/or sketches, may require cutting and/or grinding, etc. Follow established weld fabrication procedures. Perform all work assigned by Management. Maintains a high standard of quality Be able to obtain acceptable quality welds including bead appearance and pressure tight welds. Examples of non-allowable defects: undercutting, excessive weld penetration, excessive porosity, lack of fusion, etc, as determined by Management. Ability to learn and interpret engineering drawings, with direction from Production Supervisor and/or General Manager. Ability to follow and perform work to established weld procedures, use measuring instruments required for layout work. Must be capable of using instrumentation for inspection of completed work. Have basic understanding of basic metal types and corresponding filler materials used for welding these metals.
