About The Position

Perform quality repairs, modifications and fabrications on equipment, machinery, structures and high pressure vessels using advanced welding techniques.

Requirements

• Ability to fabricate components to meet required specifications.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Ability to perform welding on equipment and structures such as bridges, buildings or high-pressure vessels using advanced welding techniques and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Ability to safely weld in an overhead position.
• Knowledge of AC, DC and arc electric welding techniques.
• Knowledge of various materials, equipment, metallurgical properties and structural principles.
• Skill in providing good customer service.
• Skill in the operation of a variety of welding tools and equipment such as MIG, TIG, electronic and carbon arc, oxyacetylene torch, plasma torch, wire, stick and other welding equipment.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• A combination of training, experience, or education in Welding, or related field desired.
• Welder certification.

Responsibilities

• Locate parts and materials.
• Provide repair estimates.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work.
• Weld and accurately cut metal to repair a variety of equipment.
• Perform precise modifications to various equipment as required to adapt equipment for special accessories.
• Perform certified welding on equipment, bridges, ferryboats, existing buildings and new construction and framework and high-pressure vessels.
• Ensure welds meet certification standards.
