This position will work within teams to weld aluminum and steel enclosed and aluminum open trailer frames. The role requires strict adherence to health and safety rules, including wearing personal protective equipment. Key responsibilities include reading and correctly interpreting work orders, proficiently operating various tools such as welding machines, grinders, torches, tape measures, squares, cranes, and miter/chop saws. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in reading and executing Bills of Material (BOMs) and blueprints, as well as a strong understanding and application of various weld types (e.g., Fillet, Seam, Spot), joint types (e.g., Butt, Corner, Edge, Lap, Tee), and weld pass positions (e.g., Push/Pull, Uphill/Downhill). The position involves MIG welding aluminum and steel, and TIG welding aluminum. Additionally, the Welder will be expected to understand and properly use framing jigs for models and layouts, and demonstrate the ability to perform tasks within multiple workstations including Frame Table, Walls, Roof, and Fabrication. Ensuring correct axle placement and squareness, measuring, squaring, and plumbing linears before final weld placements, and ensuring ramp doors/gates are installed plumb, square, and function properly are also critical. The role also involves grinding any raised welds in areas that will be covered by other flush mount materials, inspecting work for completion before releasing it to the next cell, and maintaining a clean shop floor.
