Requirements

Two plus years of layout and welding experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with production goals
Ability to read and understand weld symbols, pre-qualified weld designations, and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Use of judgment to sequence welds in order to maximize efficiency and minimize weld distortion

Responsibilities

Achieve the goal of zero accidents by using all protective equipment assigned and suggest safety improvements
Produce fabricated pieces in line with customer orders and ensure that parts fit within specified parameters via testing and/or quality control checks
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
Maintain all tools, machines, and supplies in good, safe working order
Report any issues or discrepancies immediately
