Hours & Pay Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–12:00am) Pay Range: $25.00-30.00 per hour plus $2.00 2nd shift premium Position Summary This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled welder who leads by example. As a Working Team Leader, you will spend part of each shift welding while also overseeing all second-shift production activities, including welding, machine operation, and general labor. You’ll help drive safety, quality, and productivity across the floor—keeping jobs on track, supporting teammates, and ensuring customer requirements are met. This role works across multiple production areas, materials, and thicknesses to keep production moving efficiently and the team working together.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Moderate to advanced welding skills
  • Ability to weld in flat and vertical positions
  • Experience with production machines and general labor tasks
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures and specifications
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Accurate use of measuring and inspection tools
  • Ability to set up and adjust production equipment for various configurations
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing fundamentals
  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask and adapt to change
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to lead by example
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs for short periods
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Degree with 3+ years of welding experience preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing training and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all second-shift production activities, including welding, machine operation, and general labor
  • Set clear expectations and hold teammates accountable for safety, quality, productivity and attendance
  • Foster teamwork, open communication, and a positive, respectful work environment
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Coach, train, and develop teammates; address performance concerns as needed
  • Communicate shift performance, priorities, and issues to supervision
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for second-shift teammates
  • Support and guide welders, machine operators, and general labor teammates
  • Identify manpower gaps and help adjust workloads as needed
  • Support teammates and model professionalism, reliability, and accountability
  • Perform welding daily in flat and vertical positions
  • Operate production machines as needed to support workflow
  • Assist with general labor tasks to keep jobs moving and meet deadlines
  • Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot welding equipment and production machines
  • Read blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules
  • Use measuring tools to verify parts meet specifications
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas across the shop
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions immediately
  • Participate in safety initiatives, audits, and improvement projects
  • Encourage safe work habits and PPE use
  • Assist during emergency situations as required
  • Ensure in-process inspections and quality checks are completed
  • Understand and apply internal and customer quality requirements
  • Support corrective and preventative actions
  • Verify finished work meets specifications and standards
