About The Position

Wheeler Machinery Co. is currently seeking a full-time Welder to join our team at our Salt Lake City, UT location. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating a variety of metals, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and build instructions. Perform high-quality welds while meeting or exceeding estimated time requirements. Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead by example. Work collaboratively as part of a team. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in quality and productivity We’re looking for a skilled welder who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.

Requirements

Must be a self-starter.
Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.
Always keep a safety mindset
Must have a valid driver's license.
Overtime may be required
Ability to have a resolve for problems when they arise.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job.
Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.
Train a teachable employee in needed areas
Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutions
Read blueprints and identify markings
Horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire
Read inside and outside mic’s
Set up and weld series of bores
Fabrication from prints and weld projects
Tig weld flat position (Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)
Locate specs from sis
Order parts
Writing service reports
Precision measuring
Preform all other duties as assigned
