About The Position

Summary/Objective: The Welder / Machine Operator at Aalberts Hydronic Flow Control is a critical role responsible for the successful HEP (Hydronic Efficiency Products) operation of the plant. They are responsible for operating equipment in a safe and productive manner, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the production process. This role requires technical expertise in welding, machine operation, and fabrication processes while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Essential Functions: Operate and maintain machinery used in fabrication, ensuring proper function and production efficiency. Operate and maintain robotic welding equipment and troubleshoot minor mechanical or programming issues. Tack and weld sheet metal components using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). Inspect weldments for defects and monitor automated welding equipment to ensure consistent weld quality and adherence to specifications. Operate lifting equipment, including overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts, using safe lifting practices. Perform related tasks such as grinding, cutting, deburring, and removing scrap from tables to maintain workflow. Follow and enforce PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements, safety procedures, and company policies. Work collaboratively with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve production issues. Assist in the final assembly of products, ensuring proper fit and finish. Perform routine preventative maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment. Participate in training and certification programs as required.Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 Years experience in a welding
  • Experience with basic mechanical troubleshooting and machine operation.
  • Strong understanding of safe manufacturing processes and ability to recognize potential hazards.
  • Ability to pass a 6G weld test (GMAW) and demonstrate proficiency in various welding techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and weld gauges.
  • Ability to identify weld defects, correct inconsistencies, and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Familiarity with basic computer skills for machine operation and data entry.
