Hartzell Engine Tech https://hartzell.aero/ Hartzell Aerospace Welding is seeking a highly skilled and experienced TIG Welder III to join our team. This role is responsible for performing complex TIG welding operations on a variety of metals, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards and engineering specifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Successful completion of accredited welding course or equivalent on the job training and 5+ years of TIG welding experience, with at least 3 years focused on thin-gauge aluminum
  • Ability to complete AWS D17.1 class A multi-position weld test.
  • Proven ability to weld material under 1/8" thickness without distortion
  • Willing and able to follow both verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing job duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions as well as decimals.
  • To be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use the following tools/equipment: TIG welding machines Belt sanders, hand-held sanders and grinders. Powered saws Various hand tools In process inspection tools such as measuring tapes, radial/digital calipers, height gauges, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on thin-gauge materials (typically 0.035"–0.065"), including aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys
  • Demonstrated expertise welding aluminum alloys such as 6061.
  • The proper fabrication and welding of customer parts and assemblies as requested.
  • High Variety, low volume part work
  • No less than 90% of completed parts to successfully pass inspection process.
  • Offer viable semi-annual process improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for proper tracking of work.
  • General shop housekeeping
