Job Summary As a Welder III this position is in a highly skilled role responsible for complex welding tasks, focusing on advance MIG and TIG welding techniques for aluminum materials. This position requires significant experience in welding, blueprint interpretation, and quality assurance. The Welder III operates independently, ensuring precision and consistency across complex projects, and may lead or mentor junior welders. This role involves troubleshooting welding issues, contributing to process improvements, and ensuring compliance with production timelines and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of wedling techniques, blueprint interpretation and quality standards.
  • Experience in troubleshooting welding equipment and processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior welders.
  • Takes pride in work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Flexibility to work in other departments.
  • High school diploma or GED required; welding certifications or technical training preferred.
  • 5+ years of welding experience with MIG or TIG welding, specifically on aluminum
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and drawings.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by lifting, walking, bending, twisting and carrying materials.

Responsibilities

  • Is able to perform all essential job functions as a Welder II.
  • Performs advanced, complex MIG and TIG welding on aluminum components, meeting tight tolerances and high-quality standards
  • Accurately interpret detailed blueprints, welding symbols and production plans for intricate assemblies.
  • Identifies welding defects or process inefficiencies and implement solutions promptly.
  • Recommends improvements to welding techniques, workflows or equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Conducts inspections to ensure welds meet industry and company standards, including visual checks and non-destructive testing needed.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide advance training and guidance for Welder I and Welder II employees, fostering skill development within the team.
  • Is able to float between multiple departments within Premier
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety protocols, company policies, and weld standards, and lead by example in safety practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
