About The Position

Welder Level 3 SUMMARY Individuals’ primary responsibility is to be certified and maintain certification in GMAW, FCAW, SMAW and or GTAW welding and or fitting processes of steel, stainless and galvanized parts. Each job must be performed with safety, quality and accuracy in a timely manner. JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Create quality welds and fit-up’s according to drawing issued. Inspect welds and fits for accuracy. Prepare product to be welded by shearing, bending, rolling, punching, grinding, drilling, tapping and cutting. Change out all consumables as needed. Responsible for proper packing, identifying and moving of all unfinished and finished products to the proper location. Ensure all equipment and product is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use. Ability to operate forklift. Preform first piece inspection as well as all subsequent inspection as required. Maintain equipment and request maintenance when require. Perform simple maintenance and repair as required. Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system. The ability to adhere to all safety and quality practices and principles. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trades commensurate to assigned duties. Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the welding and fitting trades. Considerable knowledge of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals encountered in welding/ fitting tasks. Ability to the work with supervisor, co-workers, subordinate journeymen and helpers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to work from sketches, diagrams, blue prints, and broken parts. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used on work assignments.
