About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Requirements

  • Work 1st or 2nd shift, as well as weekends and overtime, when necessary.
  • Ability to travel to all Blue Origin facilities up to 25%, as required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Current or previous pipe welding qualification/certification.
  • 5+ years GTAW pipe welding experience, ASME B31.3.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience in pipe fitting and material preparation.
  • Must be able to pass practical weld tests for GTAW 6G pipe and SMAW 3G/4G structural steel.
  • Expert ability in welding aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
  • Expert ability in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
  • Bend/kneel, stoop/crouch, twist/turn, grasp/reach overhead and outward frequently.
  • Must document and maintain accurate records.
  • Must be able to pass background check to access U.S. military and NASA installations.
  • Interviews will include a technical assessment
  • Mandatory welding test, pipe, GTAW 6G

Nice To Haves

  • AA technical degree/equivalent and/or technical coursework.
  • Experience in use of 3D CAD programs.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T.
  • Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in pipe fitting and material preparation for welding
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment. (forklift, overhead crane, hoist, man lift, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of pressurized fluid systems.
