The Welder II-Fabricator I performs work throughout all aspects of a fabrication, welding and assembly shop. This role has the opportunity to develop advanced fabrication capability, mentor entry level welders and progress toward Welder III certifications.

JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Working knowledge of complex fabrication and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.6.
• 6G weld testing in progress with carbon and stainless steel.
• Ability to read drawings and understand weld symbols.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Able to use a tape measure accurately and operate basic hand tools.
• Detail oriented and efficient in their work habits.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Independently set up welding equipment and fixtures.
• Perform complex fabrication and fit up.
• Maintain safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety rules and shop procedures.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
