About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable Welder II to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft. Elemet Group provides solutions to solve our customers’ manufacturing and fabrication challenges. Across our four separate locations, we have access to state-of-the-art equipment and highly skilled specialists in CNC metal spinning, robotic welding, automated machining, assembly, powder coating, e-coating, and 2-axis and 5-axis water jet cutting and provide our customers with vertically integrated solutions. Requirements

  • 2 years welding experience required
  • Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Effective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgency
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and fillet gauges
  • Ability to be forklift certified
  • Ability to follow hoist safety protocols
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Flat Weld Certification (1G – 6G) preferred – Aws D1.1 and stainless
  • Working knowledge of welding with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Advanced understanding of welding necessary to produce metal components
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out
  • Ability to weld two or more different types (Mig, Tig, etc.)
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws with Quality team
  • Ability to adjust welding machine
  • Understand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hour
  • Consistent and accurate counts of materials and products
  • Ability to do daily maintenance on welding machine
  • Performs necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communication
  • Ability to setup workstation according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
  • Ability to complete the first part approval process for complex jobs
  • May tack weldments or components for robotic welding
  • May touch up points in the robotic weld cell
