About The Position

Welder I Job Description: Welder I Location: Rockwall, TX, 75032 Job Summary: The Welder I will be responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to blueprints, layouts, or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. The Welder I will also be responsible for inspecting welds for accuracy and completeness and maintaining welding equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in welding or a related field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment
• Ability to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
• Ability to examine welds for accuracy, completeness, and defects
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding process specifications
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
• Examine welds for accuracy, completeness, and defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercuts
• Clean and maintain welding equipment and supplies
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
