About The Position

As a Welder Operator on our team at Qualitrol, you will be performing daily shop tasks assuring high quality, and efficient production. We primarily use TIG, SPOT and BRAIZE welding and you’ll be responsible for welding a variety of products. The primary materials that you will weld are brass, aluminum and stainless steel. This position is critical to our production operation and supports Qualitrol Overall delivery. Support the accomplishment of Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity targets. Perform quality checks on welded metal parts at different stages through the process. Track and account for parts and adhere to the Kanban process for parts replenishment. Work in both metric as well as the U.S. standard units of measure. Set up, operate and/or maintain production equipment, machines and tools using process documents, diagrams, and written instructions in support of production goals. Use a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Produces set-ups and adjustment holding tolerances to blueprint specification. Inspect incoming raw parts from outside vendors as necessary. Participate in continuous improvement and lean methodologies. Perform duties using regular test equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures, practices, and specifications. Receive instructions on routine work assignments and general instructions on new assignments. Communicate effectively, troubleshoot, and use good judgment when resolving problems. Figures out material, parts, and equipment required. Completes testing for functionality and criteria. Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Basic Shop Mathematics skills.
  • Related welding experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of measuring tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions; attention to detail.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with others.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed, and ability to observe and follow company safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
