About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Welder/Fitter to join our team in building high-quality, sanitary process skids for the food, beverage, and dairy industries. This position involves fabricating, fitting, and welding stainless steel pipe and structural components according to technical drawings, ensuring sanitary, crevice-free, and hygienic finishes (3-A/FDA standards). This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 1–3 years of experience to grow in the field of hygienic process piping and skid fabrication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of experience in welding and fitting, specifically with stainless steel.
  • Proficiency in TIG (GTAW) welding thin-gauge stainless steel tubing.
  • Ability to read blueprints and isometric drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on hygiene and sanitary standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical skid fabrication.
  • Experience with polishing to specific Ra finishes.
  • Machining experience (manual lathe, milling machine, drilling, tapping).
  • AWS or ASME certifications for stainless steel pipe welding.
  • Experience with Orbital Welding.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication & Fitting: Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings to lay out, position, align, and fit stainless steel piping, components, and structural steel frames.
  • Welding: Perform high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on thin-gauge stainless steel tubing and piping (sanitary welding).
  • Sanitary Finishes: Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet strict food-grade standards, ensuring smooth, crevice-free joints.
  • Shop Machinery: Operate fabricating machinery such as band saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and drill presses.
  • Machining (Plus): Assist with basic machining tasks (drill press, tapping) as needed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed welds and assemblies for conformance to specifications (leak tests, pressure checks).
  • Documentation: Follow company quality procedures and maintain proper documentation.
  • Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
