About The Position

Weld Lead – Production The Weld Lead supports daily production activities by providing hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and coordination for assigned weld teams. This role partners closely with the Supervisor and existing Leads to maintain safety, quality, and production flow while reinforcing standard work and team accountability.

Requirements

  • Strong welding background with production/manufacturing experience
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team
  • Solid understanding of prints, weld symbols, and quality standards
  • Dependable, organized, and able to lead by example
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and basic data tracking
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support welders on the floor to meet safety, quality, and production expectations
  • Assist with job prioritization, work assignments, and shift coordination
  • Serve as a technical resource for welding processes, fit-up, and print interpretation
  • Reinforce standard work, quality requirements, and safety practices
  • Communicate issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to supervision
  • Support training, onboarding, and mentoring of team members
  • Document performance issues, safety incidents, and operational concerns in a clear, professional manner
  • Prepare and send professional written communications, including emails and reports
  • Assist with employee documentation, timecard review, and general administrative tasks
