About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking Weights & Mass Properties Engineers to join our team in one of the following locations: Berkeley, Hazelwood, or Saint Charles, Missouri. The individual in this role will play a key element in shaping the future for Boeing and our DoD Customers providing mass properties weight estimation, tracking, management, and key design trades as a Weights & Mass Properties Engineer in Air Dominance Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Lead Level Weights & Mass Properties Engineers. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates. Travel may be required; Domestically and/or Internationally depending on business needs. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for these positions

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Related engineering experience
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop weight, balance and mass properties data.
  • Determines approaches to developing data and analyzes and compares results
  • Define weight, balance and mass properties related design requirements
  • Participate in developing customer specification commitments
  • Provide vehicle or system configuration guidance impacting design team weight control efforts
  • Estimate, calculate & measure, and verifies mass, weight, stiffness and inertias of components, assemblies and completed vehicles or systems
  • Develop and maintains weight, balance and mass properties accounting systems and generates weight and balance reports
  • Create, develop and implement new processes and tools to facilitate improved design and analysis capabilities
  • Work under general direction
