About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking Loads & Dynamics Engineers to join our team in one of the following locations: Berkeley, Hazelwood, or Saint Charles, Missouri. As a member of the BDS Fixed-Wing Loads & Dynamics (L&D) Capability Team, you will be part of a core engineering team directly supporting production and development programs including F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25, and proprietary programs. The L&D team is looking for individuals with experience in flutter, divergence, structural mode interaction (SMI) and aeroservoelasticity (ASE). Flight engineers are essential to the development, safety and success of our products and solutions. Each day, they go above and beyond to meet our customers’ overall mission requirements—from initial vehicle concept definition through design, test, validation and in-service support. Your expertise in areas such as Aerodynamics; Propulsion; Guidance, Navigation & Control; and Loads & Dynamics will drive the future of aerospace. The Flight Systems Engineering Capability is an exciting organization in Boeing Defense, Space & Security responsible for performing Flight Engineering across a large portfolio of products and development programs. Product areas within the Flight Systems Capability in the St. Louis region include Fighter Aircraft, Unmanned Aircraft, and Missiles/Weapons Systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Related engineering experience
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for these positions

Responsibilities

  • Conduct standard loads and dynamics analyses and tests for new and derivative vehicles
  • Build mathematical models, develop, integrate and document loads and dynamics requirements to establish system design
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups to establish loads and dynamics environments
  • Uses analytical tools and models to support product design and verify that the flight vehicle integrates and demonstrates compliance to internal and external specifications and requirements
  • Perform predictive analysis for aeroelastic stability, flutter, buffet, static and dynamic forces that act on a vehicle
  • Define structural, inertial, aerodynamic and systems definition for analyses
  • Develop tests, support test execution and analysis, and report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and document certification and test results to support compliance with customer and regulatory agency requirements
  • Perform failure investigations for in-service products, identify and analyze improvements
  • Create finite element models and correlate to test results
