About The Position

The Weight Scale & Lift Calibration Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance, and documentation of all weight scales and resident lift systems within nursing facilities operated by Creative Solutions in Healthcare. This role ensures equipment is operating safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards. The technician will travel across Texas to perform preventative maintenance, calibration services, equipment audits, and minor repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical or technical aptitude with ability to service medical equipment
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to travel regularly
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as required
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience calibrating or servicing medical scales or healthcare equipment
  • Experience in long-term care or healthcare environments
  • Certification in scale calibration, biomedical equipment technology, or a related field
  • Knowledge of OSHA and healthcare equipment safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine calibration and verification of resident weight scales, including wheelchair scales, bed scales, standing scales, and related equipment
  • Conduct accuracy testing and make necessary adjustments to meet regulatory and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain calibration records and compliance documentation
  • Inspect and test resident lift systems, including: Hoyer lifts Sit-to-stand lifts Ceiling lifts Bariatric lift systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Identify worn or damaged components and coordinate repair or replacement
  • Ensure all equipment meets applicable regulatory standards, including: State health department requirements Facility policies Manufacturer calibration standards
  • Maintain accurate service logs, calibration certificates, and inspection reports
  • Provide documentation to facility administrators and Power LTC management as required
  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform minor repairs when feasible
  • Coordinate major repairs or replacements with management
  • Minimize equipment downtime
  • Educate facility staff on proper scale and lift usage
  • Assist facilities with identifying equipment issues or misuse
  • Respond to service requests from nursing facilities
  • Maintain an organized schedule for routine service visits and inspections
