About The Position

Welders are required to be safety minded, highly productive experts who can cut, fit, and tack weld all parts of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers. Wear proper PPE at all times on shop floor and follow all safety protocols and procedures Read blueprints and weld procedures to ensure all welds are completed to required specifications Set up welding equipment, prepare materials and maintain a clean workstation to ensure proper welding Perform weld processes to fabricate or repair shell & tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and/or towers while maintaining less than a 5% x-ray repair rate Work with QC personnel to ensure quality is maintained on all welds Complete assigned work within given time frame and according to specifications Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, which may include performing basic tasks when such a need arises

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a highly safety-oriented individual
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience welding pressure vessels or heat exchanger components
• Moderate knowledge and ability to weld with some, but not all, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW & SAW thermal processes in the manufacturing of various types of pressure vessels and heat exchangers
• Ability to pass a weld qualification test to acquire code stamp
• Ability to read prints for both required specifications as well as dimensions
• Ability to weld within the parameters of a WPS/PQR
• Skills in arc gouging process
• Ability to be a self-motivated and highly productive employee who requires moderate supervision and who can efficiently execute a plan to make jobs happen on time within the hours given
• Ability to be a team player who can work well with others to achieve company goals
• Ability to consistently maintain less than a 5% X-Ray repair rate
• Ability to be efficient at fixing X-Ray and UT repairs
• Ability to recognize and rectify sub-standard welds to ensure product quality
• Ability to be punctual and dependent with a willingness to work hours outside of a standard schedule when required to achieve a task or complete a project
