Customized Assistance Services (CAS) help Human Resources Administration (HRA) clients with health and/or mental health problems reach their highest attainable level of functioning and self-sufficiency by providing comprehensive, integrated, individualized clinical and support services. CAS works with other components of HRA and with other governmental and non-governmental service providers to create new programs and to integrate and refine existing services so the people it serves can achieve their maximum functional capacity. The program provides a continuum of integrated individualized services including biopsychosocial assessments, Federal disability benefits assistance, wellness planning, case management and vocational rehabilitation through education/training, job placement and retention services. WeCARE results in significant cost savings for the city by helping CA clients to obtain Federal disability benefits and employment. Under the general supervision of the We CARE Operations Deputy Director with latitude for independent judgment, decision-making and action, the We CARE Program Support Specialist functions as an out-stationed liaison at We CARE vendor locations within Region I (Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island) and Region II (Brooklyn and Queens). Representing the Human Resource Administration (HRA) and utilizing clinical expertise. The We CARE Program Support Specialist provides social work support services at either the primary We CARE vendor or subcontractor(s) location, facilitating the exchange of information between HRA Family Independence Administration (FIA), CAS Office of Business and Support Services (OBSS), We CARE Operations, and vendor staff.
