14453 - Web UX Designer (onsite) – Tallahassee, FL Start Date: ASAP Type: Temporary Project Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client. Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration. Required: Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required); Experience in IT and graphic design. Able to understand HTML and have a strong working knowledge of Web generators and photographic libraries. Possesses a portfolio of websites or solutions (3 years); Experience in human factors engineering, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing for Web and client-based applications, as well as metrics setting and monitoring for assessing the usability of the Web application; Experience improving the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Web sites in collaboration with Graphic Designers, Product Managers, Engineering Staff, and other Web Designers; Experience performing usability tests, providing design prototypes, and providing ad hoc user interface consulting; Experience in requirements gathering and articulation of user interface issues – including development of page/site prototypes; Experience in user-centered design methodology, user scenarios, usability testing, storyboarding, paper, and interactive prototypes; Experience in integrating design into program rules and system architecture and creating innovative approaches to improving the end-user experience; Experience in graphic applications, HTML development tools, and other applicable authoring tools, Web production, and front-end development using programming and scripting languages; Experience in platform/browser compatibility and basic usability issues; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Graphic Design, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Preferred: Experience as a UX/UI Designer (5+ years). Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain visually appealing and user-friendly websites using HTML, web generators, and graphic/photographic tools. Conduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and human factors analysis to improve website functionality and user experience. Collaborate with Graphic Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to enhance the usability, usefulness, and overall desirability of web applications. Gather and analyze user requirements, articulate user interface issues, and develop page/site prototypes to support design solutions. Apply user-centered design methodologies, including creating user scenarios, storyboards, paper prototypes, and interactive prototypes. Integrate design solutions into program rules and system architecture while ensuring platform and browser compatibility. Provide front-end development support, create design prototypes, and offer ad hoc user interface consulting to improve overall end-user experience.
