This role focuses on developing and maintaining secure, internal-facing web applications that enable collaboration and workflow across space operations organizations. The ideal candidate has strong experience in object-oriented programming, relational databases, and modern web technologies, with a focus on delivering scalable, maintainable solutions. This position will be remote but must live within a commutable distance to the Washington, DC metro area to support future on site trips to Greenbelt, MD.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: ColdFusion, Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML.
  • Experience with cloud-based web application development, including Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and core software development principles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting financial systems or related business applications.
  • Familiarity with enterprise or government environments, particularly within aerospace or mission-driven organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom web-based applications, including collaboration tools, financial systems, and spectrum management platforms for aerospace stakeholders.
  • Design, build, and enhance software solutions by adding new features, improving performance, and resolving defects.
  • Integrate custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies into cohesive applications.
  • Design and implement database schemas, queries, and data access layers.
  • Produce technical documentation, including requirements, system diagrams, and workflow logic.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality software.
  • Test, debug, and refine applications to ensure reliability and performance.
