As a Web Application Developer – Digital Platforms, you will work closely with the Digital Strategy team and internal stakeholders to maintain and enhance IAAPA’s digital platforms. This role is primarily focused on delivering features and resolving tickets across IAAPA’s Drupal platform and related systems, while collaborating with designers, project managers, marketing teams, and third-party partners. You will contribute to building and enhancing application features, supporting integrations with external systems such as Salesforce and e-commerce platforms, and helping ensure platform stability, performance, and quality across a global digital footprint.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in web or application development (degree or equivalent practical experience).
  • Professional experience developing and maintaining content-driven web platforms (Drupal strongly preferred).
  • Experience with modern CMS platforms (Drupal 8/9/10 or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of modern development workflows, including branching strategies, code reviews, and deployments.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA) and awareness of compliance requirements (GDPR, PCI where applicable).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency with Git-based development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and preview or testing tools such as Tugboat.
  • Working knowledge of PHP and JavaScript, with practical HTML/CSS skills.
  • Familiarity with Drupal contributed modules, configuration patterns, and best practices (Drupal preferred but not exclusive).
  • Working knowledge of front-end fundamentals to support UI implementation and collaboration.
  • Experience working with local development environments and tooling such as DDEV, Composer, and Drush.
  • Familiarity with caching and performance concepts and CDN-based architectures (e.g., Cloudflare, Varnish).
  • Understanding of standard web development practices related to performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, including responsible use of agentic tools for planning, scaffolding, and iterative refinement with human review.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, UX/UI design, marketing, and operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, track work accurately, and provide timely status updates.
  • Strong self-management skills, including prioritization, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Comfort collaborating with third-party vendors and external developers as part of delivery workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a global or international organization, including awareness of regional access or performance considerations, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce platforms (e.g., Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of experimentation or user-behavior analysis tools (e.g., Crazy Egg, Optimizely) is a plus.
  • Exposure to translation platforms or localization workflows, including integrating translated content into content management systems, is a plus.
  • Ability to work at the Headquarters office in Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver application features and resolve tickets across Drupal and related digital platforms.
  • Build, configure, and maintain content-driven functionality, including content types, views/listing logic, and site configuration.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers and UX/UI designers to implement features based on provided designs (e.g., Figma).
  • Participate in feature planning, requirements gathering, and technical discussions with internal stakeholders.
  • Perform platform maintenance, updates, and configuration changes to support stability and performance.
  • Support event and virtual platforms (e.g., Cvent, Swapcard) and collaborate with internal teams to deploy and maintain event-related digital experiences.
  • Contribute to integrations with third-party systems, including Salesforce, Shopify, and marketing platforms, using APIs and related services as needed.
