GENERAL FUNCTION: The Early Career Externship provides support as directed through assignments within a line of business or division while receiving exposure to the broader organization. Externs integrate into the organization through day-to-day activities and project work. Externs operate as team members on larger initiatives, but also work independently on smaller projects and tasks. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in accredited degreed program.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • Solid candidates should have relevant internship and/or work experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, relationship building and teamwork through extracurricular activities, work experience, or academic pursuits.
  • Strong academic record with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • MUST be able to work full time for the summer (May to August)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service skills with the ability to respond to internal and/or external requests.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the capacity to learn additional software applications as required by the assignment.
  • Capable of managing own time to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant internships and/or co-op program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments and projects as determined by leadership.
  • Utilize project management skills to manage and report on assignment and project status.
  • Build a network of contacts within assigned line of business or division as well as across the organization.
