WDI Ride Control Engineering Intern, Summer 2026
About The Position

The approximate date of this internship is May/June through August/September 2026 and will be located in Orlando , FL . Ride Control Engineers build the most advanced systems that create magical and immersive attractions around the world. These attractions are as exciting for grown adults as they are for kids. We work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment to develop unique control systems for Disney’s wide array of exciting rides – from an initial idea to creation to opening a new attraction.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and implement basic control system design
- Experience with programmable controllers used in machine control and robotic applications
- Ability to conduct electrical/electronic design and calculations
- Ability to prepare technical documents and CAD drawings
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
Nice To Haves
- Leadership experience in an engineering organization, or other organized group
- Membership or leadership in IEEE, SWE, ACM, or equivalent professional organization
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Matlab
- Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory experience
- Control Systems Engineering and/or Control Theory coursework
Responsibilities
- Be part of an engineering team involved in ride control system development, prototyping, simulation, or testing for a specific attraction or development project
- Design, model, and/or analyze electrical, electronic, and data communication systems
- Join a project or development team, partnered with a leader who will be your mentor
